FAQ

How to measure the h-masz?

A modular wheel has a center bolted to the inner + outer lips. All these 3 parts do affect the offset of the finished wheel. The offset of the center is measured from the naïve face to the rim mounting area. In German we call it the h-masz. Please see the drawing.

Does the h-masz affect the offset of my wheel?

The higher the h-masz the lower the offset. Just imagine a wheel spacer. The high H-masz sets the wheel outwards.

Does the center fit my brake calipers?

Never ever the wheel can touch your brake calipers. A clearance of 3mm is highly recommended. The h-masz affects the caliper clearance directly. If to small you will get a collision!

This leads to the question: Why should I look for a small h-masz? Most modular wheels do look more attractive with a deep dished outer lip. The smallest h-masz allows for the deepest lip.

Solution: At first the center must clear the brake caliper. Only in the next step you can measure for the maximum outer lip.

How do I measure the width of the rim ring?

The rim ring is only a component of the rim. In order to measure the ring width correctly we need to understand how the rim width of a whole rim is defined.
